Susan and I celebrated our 45th wedding anniversary (July 19) in Santa Fe. I went out the first night we were there and shot in the area of the La Fonda Hotel, where we were staying, and then a few early next morning. Later that day we drove 30 miles north to Rancho de Chimayo, location of the eponymous restaurant, which we always visit when we come to Santa Fe. We also stopped by for a few quick shots of the Sanctuario de Chimayo. That evening we enjoyed a spectacular sunset from atop the La Fonda Hotel, watching the sun descend through clouds over the Jemez Mountains off to the west. The “fuzziness” in many of the sunset shots is virga–rain that leaves the clouds but doesn’t reach the ground.
