The highlight of 2024 for me was the total eclipse of the sun on April 8th. Daughter Elisabeth and I drove south to Sullivan, Indiana, where totality lasted almost 4 minutes. Later in April, I traveled to northern California to visit my brother and then north to the Oregon coast to visit my sister. Susan and I spent much of the summer at our place on Hamilton Beach in Wareham, Massachusetts. It was our final visit. Since 2003, our annual (and many years, semi-annual) visits to the south coast of Massachusetts have been a great run, but life has its seasons—and we are entering a new season. Nevertheless, my photography continues. I made a few excursions the Driftless region of Wisconsin for fall colors and in November, then back to northern California, where two friends and I spent the day photographing along the incomparable Sonoma coast.
