These photos are the result of a February 2014 photography workshop centered around Grand Marais, Minnesota. Locations include Grand Marais Lighthouse, the shore of Lake Superior near Grand Marais (sunset shots), as well as at Cascade River State Park (sunrise) and Temperance River State Park (also sunrise). We also hiked into Kadunce River Canyon and Devil Track River Canyon.
The highest temperature we encountered during our four days in Northern Minnesota was 15 degrees during our hike into Kadunce River Canyon. The lowest temperature was -9 for the almost two hours before and after sunrise that we shot at Temperance River State Beach on the shore of Lake Superior.
The final photograph (section 3 below) shows Jerry Hanson, Joel Hanson and myself at Temperance River Beach. We were very, very cold by that point.
