San Diego Zoo Safari Park

About 30 miles northeast of San Diego is the San Diego Zoo Safari Park (formerly known as the “Wild Animal Park”).  Animals live in large enclosures and are generally free to do as they please.  Which involves a lot of eating, sitting, and sleeping.  Not very unlike those of us staring back at them.

I made these images with my Nikon D200 fitted with a Nikkor AF-S 28-300mm 3.5/5.6 lens.  Since the D200’s sensor is not “full frame,” the combination yields a 1.5X magnification on the telephoto lens, which I was able to put to good use, especially in the lion enclosure.
