Stonehenge, Amesbury, UK (1978)

Britain is the place outside the US that I’ve visited the most. In 1973, Susan and I traveled through the UK with my parents(!) We toured London and environs and then took the overnight train north to Edinburgh. We rented a car there, driving south through Scotland, the Lake District and eventually back to London. Susan and I visited again in 1978 and saw Stonehenge and Stourhead Gardens, among other places.

I was able to squeeze in a bit of photography on weekends during visits, most notably in 1981 and 1996. In 1998, Elisabeth, Geoff and I drove from London to Stonehenge, Bath, the Cotwolds, and Stratford-on-Avon.
