The Milky Way at Ned’s Point

It was a beautiful, clear night at Mattapoisett. The waning moon would not rise until after midnight. Happily, the southwest view from Ned’s Point, where we would see the Milky Way, is directly over Buzzard’s Bay and therefore relatively free from light pollution. The light near the horizon on the right hand side of the images is from new Bedford and Fairhaven.
