Minuteman National Historic Park

The rain was pretty much over—just a gentle sprinkle—when I arrived at Minuteman National Historic Park that runs along Massachusetts 2A between Lexington and Concord. Stopped first at Hartwell Tavern, which was closed that day. No other visitors around. The rain made for somewhat challenging photography in keeping the camera and lens dry.

Then off to my favorite: Old North Bridge where the shot heard ’round the world was fired. I’ve been coming here since 1964 and it is blissfully unchanged. The rain also meant I had the place to myself except for a ranger standing under an umbrella at the far side of the bridge.
