This year it seemed like autumn would never come to southern Wisconsin as we enjoyed summer-like weather through September and most of October. Finally, the colors started appearing during the third week of October. But the brilliant colors were short-lived. I traveled to the hilly Driftless region, just a few miles from my home in Madison and caught the remaining colors, which comprise most of this post.
The sky also featured a couple of terrific moonrises, including October’s “super” moonrise, which I captured over Lake Mendota here in Madison. Two notable sunrises rounded out this autumn’s photography.
