A highlight of the summer is the 4th of July fireworks show put on by a generous homeowner here at Hamilton Beach. Although fireworks are illegal in Massachusetts, the police look the other way as long as no one complains. An added feature is Parkwood Beach, across the Wareham River from us also puts on a fireworks show at the same time—a friendly (I think) rivalry. However, there’s no doubt that in terms of spectacular displays and sheer number of fireworks ignited, Hamilton Beach was the clear winner this year.
